Guest HariSampath
well 2 wkts down and Sehwag gets a duck :-( Link to comment
Ram
Drop Karthik , Get Sehwag in. Who cares how many ducks he makes ? Or how hopelessly out of sync he seemed in the limited over matches he played for Ind ? Just get him in the test team , he will score a triple against Aus ! Link to comment
Guest HariSampath
I am reminded of an Irani trophy game at the Kotla 25 years back...Rest of India V Delhi. Delhi dominated the first 3 days and also had the 1st inngs lead. Delhi got allout one hour before lunch on the last day, and ROI had a target of 424 to win in 4 hrs plus 20 mandatory overs, and Delhi bowling had Madanlal, Valson, Maninder, Mohinder Amarnath, Kirti Azad and Shukla, and the wkt was turning. ROI scored 424 and won the Irani trophy, a totally unbelieavable run chase, still an Indian first class record for 4th inngs chases. Kris Srikkanth set the tone with a blazing 110 off 70 balls, with 7 sixes and 14 fours, Arun lal got 80, Malhotra 114 and ROI won incredibly Link to comment
Ram
You mean Arun "Yes Indeeeeeed" Lal can actually bat too ? Wow ! Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Actually, Lal was a very good domestic bat for Bengal but was one of the many who couldn't cut it at all at the highest level. Respectable f/c average, complete rubbish for a test record. Still, I'd much rather see him bat than listen to him... Link to comment

I have seen him hook Imran, Wasim et al beautifully, and he had done very well against the Windies of 1986/87 too Link to comment

He had played some very good 50s , 70s etc against high quality bowling in tough conditions. He played very well against Imran and Wasim, Patterson, Walsh etc Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Delhi 206/3. 31 overs left, 181 needed. Gumby on 93 still. Link to comment
Chandan
Well, the match is drawn now with Delhi scoring 252/3 in 96 over and Gambhir remaining unbeaten on 137 in the second inning. It seems as if they put the shutter down as soon as Manhas joined Gambhir. How else can you explain the partnership: 63 runs, 27.1 overs, RR: 2.31 . And it is understandable too. Delhi gained points on the basis of first innings lead. Link to comment

apocalypse
Two quick dampened the run flow. Delhi could have tried for victory if Chopra would have played a bit faster Link to comment
