Think it was couple of days before diwali. Remember DD did a highlights reel of that innings on diwali evening named "Dhoni diwali damaka " or something like that

diwlai falls on different days.. in blore they celebrated diwali this time on oct 24th , but in kerala and tn it was on oct 22nd

It was Diwali that day.

Really? It was during the Diwali holidays but not sure whether it was on Diwali itself. I do remember lot of relatives in my house that day though..probably Bhai Dooj?

Good catch :D This innings was what made me a fan of him. So this one is special. This was in days before T20 and such brutal hitting while chasing such a score was not seen before. The WC final innings is special because of the occasion. Can't compare.
