randomGuy
With carlsen , expect no short draws. That's exciting for chess fans.
Kalia_Test
seriously anand needs to retire. even a newb would know that h4 makes no sense. True that Anand is way past his prime but I would not put too much on that H4 move...Carlsen's position was very strong even before that and H4 might have been just to see if Carlsen imagines some threat and makes a blunder.. It is common for GMs to just play an unorthodox move before resigning...
Malcolm Merlyn
Anand! Does Carlsen have a mental edge over Anand or what? The way Anand defeated the contenders at the candidates tournament no one can say that he will make such noob mistakes. This seems more like mental rather than skills. FischerTal
as of now only grischuk or caruana can challenge carlsen
Malcolm Merlyn
Caruana may be.But Grischuk?really? Anand really needed to change his team a lot more.Should have tried to include Caruana. Nielsen was Anand's second for years and is now with Carlsen. No doubt Carlsen knows Anand's game and preparation inside out.
FischerTal
Caruana may be.But Grischuk?really? Anand really needed to change his team a lot more.Should have tried to include Caruana. Nielsen was Anand's second for years and is now with Carlsen. No doubt Carlsen knows Anand's game and preparation inside out. Grishchuk just broke 2800. I think if he really improves his game, he's a contender. Nielsen is the reason anand has lost to carlsen so convincingly. All of Anands opening prep has been neutralized but it's also fair to say that anand is past his prime. India won't see another super GM for awhile now though. Harikrishna isn't anything spectacular. The only hope I have is prodigy Arvind chithambaram but he's too young as of now
yoda
Anand embarrassing himself out there by not seeing 1 move from a check mate. Poor clock work also, putting himself under pressure to make critical middle game moves with just a few mins left on the clock.
Kalia_Test
Wonderful analysis of game 2 with the author urging Anand to go for Sicilian here I used to know all this Ruy Lopez, Berlin, Najdorf, Sicilian like back of my hand...completely lost touch :((....good flashback for me
