Jersey #10 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Tomorrow at 8pm ... Main channel ESPN This is a first for the US!
zep1706 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I wish they got someone other than that godawful Deepak Chopra to narrate this. His voice spoils it.
Cricketics Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Wow, definitely watch this. I expect it to be something done by sky sports.
Jersey #10 Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 I watch a lot of college basketball and the commentators have been talking about Sachin all day today during the games. Some of them were arguing Sach vs Don on air during a live game. I was shell shocked when just randomly the basketballcommies started talking about Sachin out of nowhere. This is very rare for American TV
Jersey #10 Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 Wow' date=' definitely watch this. I expect it to be something done by sky sports.[/quote'] Star Sports maybe? I thought ESPN Star Sports is a joint venture between Fox and Disney. Then again, Fox owns sky sports so who knows
Jersey #10 Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 8Pm eastern or pacific :hmmm: 8PM ET so what is that 5pm Pacific?
vamos_rafa Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Star Sports maybe? I thought ESPN Star Sports is a joint venture between Fox and Disney. Then again' date=' Fox owns sky sports so who knows[/quote'] No. ESPN is owned by Disney. Also, there's a lot of push from ESPN to attract the Indian diaspora in the US and hence such initiatives. Also, ESPN has the broadcasting rights for the WC in US/Caribbean region I believe.

Will depend on how this WC does financially for them
Jersey #10 Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 It was alright. It was obvious that they were trying to sell the World Cup more than tell Sachin's story. It was a jumble of Cricket in India and the 28 year wait for the World Cup with Sachin. I've seen better but I'll take any media coverage I can get for Cricket in the US.
Jersey #10 Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 It's playing on ESPN2 now The first 10 minutes are worth the watch
