Based on the emails that are published the student comes across as calm and collected. "Many other female professors are refusing Indian male students" comments tells me that she is not the only one. Otherwise she would have never made such comments. The university as well, the issue is not exactly that he is an Indian or that they have X% of foreign students. The issue is of the 4 +2 Indian students how many are male? In reality a large % of Indian male (maybe even female) students will be refused applications and opportunities because of this. Its all very well for Leslie Udwin and her supposed freedom of speech ideal. It has real consequences for those of us living in the west. So because it has real consequences for you, rather than demands to have better investigation agencies - you will blame Leslie Udwin for showing the mirror. Waah, waah! More power to people like Udwin and let her expose the real aukaat of the f**** up Indian society. Let use face the consequences and then may be we will do something rather than the apna kaam banta toh bhaad mein jaaye junta attitude.

Its a trait in West Europe to make "discoveries" about Indian poverty and problems. From the man booker prize given to Indians to the BBC news portal. The negatives always out number the positives. You came to know about the rape problem in India cause Leslie Udwin made a documentary? There are thousands of activists (male and female) in India who have been working hard on the ground to bring about change. So you need the BBC to "expose" things? There were thousands of programs on TV in the MSM in the direct aftermath of this horrible case which discussed things in an objective manner without the sensationalist garbage which udwin came out with. Especially the sad as feck music in the background. They talked about solutions from fast track courts to hiring special women constables to handle such cases. People like you only like to expose. Never one for solutions. Ofcourse they affect me. You would have to be naive to think otherwise. Who says i am against demanding better response from the government in improving the situation? I back fast track courts and quick justice for rape with a sentence if proven guilty of hanging.

Since you have a problem with the BBC documentary, point out one thing in it that is FACTUALLY INACCURATE, MISLEADING or an OUTRIGHT LIE. If you can't do that, you should stop wasting everybody's time and just admit that you are changing the topic because of your insecurities. I honestly couldn't care about the supposed damage to India's image. Whatever damage was done, it was done long ago by apologists and educated people who should know better.

I have no issue with facts being aired. However what i dont want is sensationalist articles. This documentary was sensationalist. As posted in the other thread it appears to be the view of Anjali bhushan one of the co editors (if indeed it is authentic). I do have a problem with the BBC airing these sensationalist documentaries which add nothing to the process. Fast track courts not working again is your opinion. I for one am willing to give them a try. Obviously a long term solution is to change the attitudes in society. But there needs to be something
