Present Afghan PM is closer to Pakistan. He is trying to do a balancing act keeping ISI in mind. Pak is responsible for a lot of terror activities that is going on in Afghanistan and he is trying to caox them to stop it.

Don't think he's closer to Pakistan. He's just trying to contain them with good diplomacy. In Asia, if you share border with some country, the relationship is typically bad. Relationship between Pakistan-Afghanistan will probably never become "good", they can at most safely co-exist. BTW, if Dalmiya & Co. gets back some muscle among BCCI, Afghans will get help from them. Dalmiya theory is : "Expand the revenue/customer base and profit will come anyway.", Srini thinks : "No point in expanding business if there's no profit".

Afghanistan was a very popular tourist destination a few years ago. Many newly married couples used to go to Kabul etc. Maybe you can blame the Afghan government for the downfall but I would blame it more on the western countries than anyone else.

We have good network there and have won the trust and friendship of the locals. BCCI should also help the Afghan cricket board and promote more goodwill among their public' date= stop thinking about money for once FFS.

The political views were different on communal lines.Many muslims were not nationalists at that time and didn't oppose the partition of Bengal. There was mobilization on communal lines in the lead up to partition. Then there was the killings in Calcutta and noakhali after direct action day and eventual bitter split in 1946-47. "Bengal divided " is a book I recommend Its history and later issues like farukka barrage and flooding that leads to some unpopular views in bangladesh. Islamists ofcourse believe in this " we need Islamic society with muslim ruler and god given laws" and "muslim brother hood" and will always favor the likes of Pakistan. Afghanistan has an issue with the Durand line which divides Pashtun areas.Pakistan's meddling in the civil war has worsened matters Pakistan has tried to keep Pashtun nationalism in check.otherwise Pakistan will face a huge threat to it survival.
