The BCCI has preferred to maintain a silence on the issue. Secretary Sanjay Patel said he did not "wish to comment" on the issue since it was an internal matter of the BCCI. However, ESPNcricinfo understands that never in the last six months have these requests been put before the working committee to allow the decision-making body of the BCCI to decide on whether or not they should lend a helping hand. It is believed that a few high-ranking BCCI officials are averse to the idea of letting the game grow beyond the Full Members. Safe to say they wont get much assistance from the board itself, albeit the Indian government has given them a grant in the past if I remember

Pakistan has done so much for Afghan cricket and then the fact that so many Afghans are refugees in Pakistan is another thing. Afghan cricket would be nothing without Pakistan's support. Both Bengalis (to both India and Pakistan) and Afghans are on the wrong track in my opinion. Both being highly ungrateful. Anyway, this article clearly seems to be Indian Propaganda.

Plus not every match has to be fixed for money for the players, there could be a lot of politics involved...who knows. And to be honest what has India done for Bangladesh cricket wise? India may have also helped Bangladesh get test status as well but hasn't done much else considering India hardly ever plays them, whereas, Pakistan has played them quite often.

We missed the bus in 71 when after helping liberate Bangladesh, we became indifferent and passive, thus changing public opinion against our favor. Similarly with Lanka and Nepal, we could have cornered Pakistan by befriending these countries. Instead we allowed China into the South Asian mix and are surrounded on all sides by hostile neighbors. BCCI is no different from the Indian government, always selfish, no long term plan.

They were in a bus and the moment the fellow travelers realized they were Indians, they started singing Bollywood music and dancing. Basically, my dad and friend were treated like celebrities simply because they were Indians. Not sure how much of those feelings persist, but in general, India can play a very positive role there and if the comments above about the BCCI are true then those high ranking officials need to basically be sacked by the govt, and replaced by people who can think about the game and the country's interests first.
