omidagr8 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 ICC are planning to have a 10 team event in 2019 , but the greats like sachin lara feel that globalization of the game is necessary So can we have a 20 team even with the following format Group Stage: 20 teams with 5 groups of 4 each Group A) Aus, Sl , PNG, Nepal Group B) Ind , Afghan, Zim , UAE Group C) Eng , Windies , Scotland , Canada Group D) Pak , Bang , Hong Kong , Ireland Group E) Sa, Nz , Malaysia , Bermuda Top 2 teams from each group make it to Super 10 .(with points earned against qualifying team carried forward) In Super 10 each team plays each other with top 4 going to knockouts
BlueBee Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 The first name in all group is for the best teams. Swap England with NZ :--D
BlueBee Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 It will take months to finish. Group stage + Super 10 + KO.
MCGGG Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Just do away with the formalities like actually playing, just give Australia a shiny new cup every 4 years.
omidagr8 Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Just do away with the formalities like actually playing' date=' just give Australia a shiny new cup every 4 years.[/quote'] @mcggg next world cup is not in aus and neither this oz team is good enough to dominate every where ...this may be ur last for long time to come ...every body knows this Oz team is home track bully ...next tym they tour asia they will be given a reality check
kubrickian Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Can you imagine how long the tournament with that format will take to finish ?

BlueBee Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 4 of our 5 WCs were won away from home. :giggle: Not by this team.
MCGGG Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Not by this team. But they feed off the knowledge from those who went before them, we will start dominating hit and giggle cricket soon as well.

MCGGG Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Not by this team. This WC victory was as dominating as any of our WCs, beast of a team.
The Outsider Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Can you imagine how long the tournament with that format will take to finish ? Not advocating the format, but duration wise it can be done in a reasonable amount of time: 1. Stage 1 has 6*5 = 30 matches which can be played in 15 days. 2. Stage 2 has 40 matches (assuming teams don't play the team from their group again), which can be played over 27 days, giving sufficient break to teams. 3. Knockouts can be played over another 7 days (even if one chooses the eliminator/qualifier system over Semi Finals). That's 7 weeks for the entire tournament.
MCGGG Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 You already replied to that post. :mama: It was worthy of a second quote bro.
omidagr8 Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 4 of our 5 WCs were won away from home. :giggle: Lol we all knwo that oz team off 99-07 was a class but this team is a bunch of hack's ..only starc could make it to that Oz team and maybe smith as reserve batsman

adi B Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 12 teams,6 teams in 2 groups each.top 3 qualifies for super 6 and more wins in the group stages mean points are carried forward in the super six.top 4 from SS reach the semi final. 99,2003 were the best format where the group stage matches were meaningful and super six were awesome
