Starting this thread to share each other's tv/pc set up so one can get ideas from each other for buying new tv, service provider, tv packages, etc. Having tried so many TV set ups in last decade, from sling boxes to directv to dish network recievers, I am currently settled with Verizon FIOS. Here is how my set up looks like Verizon Ultimate Package - Includes all English channels and also comes with Willow Cricket Verizon Set top box is hooked up to the internet router in my living room. This is the first time I ever had my router next to tv. I always had a modem connected via ethernet to my desktop which is in my room and had a seperate router(cisco) to get wifi in my house. But since Verizon has a modem/router combo, it works well to just connect to the set top box. I also have a IPTV box connected to tv which takes care of cricket games which do not get streamed on Willow Cricket Channel. Good thing about this verizon package is that it comes with Showtime and Cinemax movie package and includes tons of movie channels itself. Infact all the channels which air movies from classic to new ones. Basically, you do not have to really subscribe to netflix with this package at your home. Now I am looking to get a new smart tv. Perhaps a Samsung Smart TV. I guess I am running out of ports here on this tv and it is getting old too. With the current set up, I have a shortage of HDMI ports and have to leave my PS3 disconnected. So a new tv with atleast 4-5 HDMI ports will come in real handy. So how does your home tv/pc entertainment look like. Any recommendations, anything you desire to have for your tv?
