In the current Queensland/NSW Pura Cup match, Chris Hartley took 7 catches in the NSW innings. Was it a record ? No. The world record for an innings is 9, held by Tahir Rashid & WR James. The remarkable aspect of James' feat was what he did with the bat in the same match. He scored 99 & 99 not out. James also holds the world record for most dismissals in a match - 13. 9 (8ct, 1st) Tahir Rashid Habib Bank v PACO Gujranwala 1992-93 9 (7ct, 2st) WR James* Matabeleland v Mashonaland CD Bulawayo 1995-96 8 (all ct) A T W. P.S - it is known that the day this video hit net, pp was formed..
go run through the commentary for the first test match in the asia test competition back in 1999 in kolkata which we lost (it had the infamous tendulkar runout). in the second innings i believe, ganguly was given catch behind after moin claimed a catch that evidentally had bounced just before him, and the bounce was so pronounced that it was not like a volley catch (the one dhoni claimed against pietersen), but indeed a full table tennis stroke. pakistani players often blurr the line between the desire to win, and conducting themselves within the realms of a gentleman.

Blame Steve Dunne for that. The fielders always claim catches, it is umpire who had to redirect it to the third umpire. A very incompetent umpire he was, but received suprisingly little criticism for his blunders (Does anyone remember Aravinda de Silva given out caught after it bounced off Inzamam's shirt sleeve in a one day in Sharjah ?)
