Yuvraj will be playing for sure.He is teh future Sehwag is a proven opener in Aus. Dravid is our wall.laxman, gangs are all in good form. We shoudl sit out Tendulkar in the first test.
I have been a great fan of Yuvraj ever since I saw him bat against Australia in 2000 Champions Trophy. Always had to fight against friends where I argued Yuvraj was better than Sehwag. Mate, but for God's sake don't think about him replacing GOD at this point of time, when he's been our best batsman in 2007.

What people should realize is that by dropping Sehwag we are not only dropping him but also Dravid' date=' unless Yuvraj opens.[/quote'] Wrong. By picking Sehwag, Dravid may still have to bat within 5 overs, so that is virtually opening anyways -and that does not mean Dravid will fail for sure when he comes at 10-1

Point 1 : Made by the word highlighted above Point 2 : Opening and one down are different mindsets and Dravid has not shown himself to be very capable of making the transition. Yuvraj, on the other hand, might be worth a punt at opening and see how it goes.

>> I think someone might be VERY VERY embarrassed after the success of Viru in this tour. I desperately hope Sehwag inspires and motivates himself to perform well in this tour. We cannot afford to miss out on a talent like him for long. Ganguly was brought back solely on his pedigree and experience and he has proved all his doubters horribly wrong. I wish Sehwag does the same, for his own sake and India's sake.

:D Karthik's place is gone, even though he top-scored one series ago. Yuvraj scored a 100 in the last match he played, he is still not a certainty. Ishant Sharma took a 5-for the last time he bowled, he too may not play. The message from the Indian team is clear - Perform consistently, or perish. :two_thumbs_up:
Unless of course you are Sehwag - in that case doesn't matter.

No, Yuvraj shouldn't and will not open...Dravid with all his best technique and poor form should open while yuvraj in middle order is perfect as he can score runs by the heaps when he sets in.

Hmm ... I didn't know that was part of the criteria to be an opening batsman. Please explain??? I agree with you, though, that if we're not going with a specialist then Dravid or Laxman should open, but that sentence was just odd.
