In today's world yes it is very important to be educated atleast till basic level to face up the society however what makes an argument is that in less developed countries they say education will do miracles over night, But the development is generally concerned to economic circusmtances and prospects of a country, The basic problems in less developed countries are lack of employment opportunities and Inflation, Now if already employment opportunities are pretty scarce what wonders will an educated unemployed population do, Having said that a balance between Investment Scale and Education should be made, A country should look to produce educated people as much as it could afford to, In India-Pakistan dependancy ratio is also high, In other words the upbringing of early employment and independance whilist provision of employment to youth is equally important, Education yes is probably the most important aspect in social upbringing of a country but needs balancing out in development aspect by other factors. We have 12000 MBAs and for instance only 10 employers, What is the other population going to do other than the ones being selected for job, Also this leads to people pursuing extreme forward studies in order to get the job opportunity hence again raising dependance and possibly the fact that the population could have used up some investment and other business prospects in the time they spent to go that further which would have been more socially beneficial, Also its stated fact that less developed countries face alot of population growth, And this would lead up to pretty higher labour supply as compared to demand, Also the money spent in surplus and unique degrees could have been spent upon some better economic/business cause, In my view the education for alot of people is show off specially in a less developed country like Pakistan, And it alone could not bring out the economic progress and prosperity in a country but could have greater social impacts but it also can be argued that the basic education is enough for a person to raise up specially considering social media and stuff have really fastened up the things hence this concept of leading forward only with one sole base is inept and deluded.

World with explosion of Internet in recent years has evolved in to a culture of startups. Their is an opportunity in every difficulty. People no longer prefer working for someone than themselves. Self employment is a factor in India.

I also think that there is hardly any scope for a salaried person except that he wants peace or is inclined to the job, The currency devaluation also makes it not worthy with ever so rising prices.

I can relate with this article. Spent so much money on my bachelors and now I realize that those resources and time could have been better utilized in getting a head start on setting up my business. Colleges, MBAs etc for the most part is merely a tag and there are way better ways to educate yourself and build skills (atleast for computer science guys). If I could do things all over again, I would start my business aged 18, not 23. Losing those crucial years is a regret, because college added nothing of value towards my eventual goal. Not against education here, but people need to look beyond degrees and explore more options. There may be better and more practical ways to educate yourself.

Ive written this article myself. And ive been facing the same issue. 18 to 23 are best years to establish a business setup, Will get you up on your feet and make you realize early how things go on so you could not just come in and face up the rush nor you waste up the resources and more importantly the time which is as valuable as anything

However A guy is some Engineer or has a recognized degree but jobless or being paid very less, Upon hearing his educational credits the people are like wow thats great (Appreciation Starts) and whatsoever regardless of that he is sitting up in his home doing nothing.

Its a cultural thing and one big reason why even a 20-22 year old is seen as a kid in our families. Even at that age, parents are supposed to be the providers, and kids have no desire to help. I am not against colleges, but there are so many people here who would be better off exploring other options. Job opportunities have reached a saturation point and things are nothing like they used to be 10 years ago.

This is one big reason why our countries are not moving forward really economically and socially. High dependancy ratio is present, No own independence which leads to lack of ideas, Its human nature that when he is grown up he looks to use up his mind and try move on to accuire something but its totally opposite scenario, I also feel by providing maturity and employment to young people it will help them refrain from drugs and other immoralities. There is a lack of peace in mind until a person is independant, The feeling of being able to do and act upon own's will without being accountable or questionable to anyone. As the dependancy fall the pressure reduces which also releases the burden upon the resources of economy. Plus, I feel at early age people tend to pick things up earlier and carry out that hunger and desire to move ahead which could provide to be helpful in earning. Im also inclined to reject the view that the person should be asked to solely focus on studies, No one could live like this not for so long atleast, Its healthier and productive for a person and economy to be indulged in practical life earlier.

In my view our previous generation are not good enough, They were stuck in between social elements and modernization. Also they are inept of thinking about sustainable future and proper planning. 10 years back as you said the job condition were better and hence they continued in same fashion thinking about educated labour force being the sole solution to development, But in real other factor of production are equally or even more important in few cases. Hence this is why i consider the education as a main factor for social development, But internet, media.etc has been already established as great source for people to educate for social concern, I feel Inter should be must, After 10th grade a person should start being involved in practical life and start up the things after inter, There should be no force or compulsion on higher education just for the sake if it.

This is the first time in history where we have mass education, mass Media etc, but it has ruined the balance and our mindset, one must educate themselves simply for education, but the sole reason for education today is to get a job at the end. I mean my uneducated grandfather would work alone and provide for 10 people but now If 2-3 people are working in a family people are still struggling to get by something is obviously not right.

Then i think we should stop campaign for education as step to development stuff. Rather turn it over to a social aspect just for sake of it, Also as we say higher education means higher skilled labour force and specialized people but a country's inability to provide employment to that skilled labour force is clearly an inefficiency, Also i feel if you are to get educated just for the sake of education then why one pursue higher specialization and stuff.
