Cricketics
:cantstop: Former Test all-rounder Greg Matthews has rocked the Australian cricketing community with claims that he is the second best spinner in NSW behind Stuart MacGill. The 48-year-old recorded a phenomenal six-wicket-haul for Sydney University on Saturday, and says he is still good enough to play first class cricket http://www.livenews.com.au/Articles/2007/12/03/Im_still_good_enough_to_play_for_NSW_Matthews__ known for that tied test commanly.. Ram
The headline should read more like " I am ready for a cumbersome back", considering his age. Link to comment

Donny
So, Matthews the Mouth is still in fine form. Always an individual, Greg Matthews had a better Test batting average than Flintoff, Yuvraj, Fleming, Gayle, Jaffer etc. but, other than his Madras heroics where he took 10 wickets, was less than successful as a Test offie. If you take out his tied Test effort, he took 51 wickets in 32 Tests @ over 50. Other than within NSW, he was never a favourite with selectors or his Test captain, Allan Border. He achieved more fame (or notoriety) in Oz with his "Yeah.Yeah" hair replacement ads on TV. Link to comment

Donny
Tics, that link doesn't work. Incidentally, he hasn't rocked anyone. Another case of petty media sensationalism. That's just Greg. Link to comment
