In a discussion with Prem Panicker over the same issue--Kumble's brilliance, Prem commented that in their tactics to target the visiting captain, Australians over attacked Kumble and the champion took full advantage of that. But he(Prem) thinks that Australia won't repeat the mistake and would look to negate Kumble from now on, by just seeing him of, and only taking singles and twos of him. What do you think? Can a bowler like Kumble be negated easily, if you just try to play safe? I suppose, many have tried to do this to Kumble before too, and have failed. How do you think the Australians would look to tackle Kumble?
Chandan, Prem is just talking, you know...as people who write blogs, or make a living out of selling words do? It must be pretty frustrating to bask in somebody else's glory and then try and wax analytical about it. You watched the game. Did Jaques, Hussey or Lee get out attacking Kumble? Did Hayden over attack him? Go through Gilchrist and Symand's dismissals and you'll find that those two, particularly the former, rarely get out playing defensive strokes. It's not as if they singled out Kumble. This is how they play their cricket. Prem doesn't know what he is talking about if he thinks that the Aussies will let Kumble bowl to them through the rest of this series. That's not how they play their game. And that's why he picks up so many wickets against them. They are wonderful cricketers, and will play to attack, which is the only reason India have a tiny, albeit infinitessamaly small, chance in this series. Don't waste your time browsing these "pundits' " blogs. There's plenty of hot air floating around right here from the potbellied armchair warriors, if you feel the need to warm your cockles.

awesome performance by Kumble... supported by the whole team. I am happy that we have taken 9 wickets at 337 which still is a very good score. Now its upto batters to take the game to the Aussies and make Kumble's performance count in the (hopefully) match winning list. More importantly, it will be interesting to see how Australia reacts from here. This is an unfamiliar territory for them. They are used to pummeling sides with innings defeat or with heavy margins... heres me:dance: Celebrating Kumble's performance, at the same time :nervous: and  for our batters... Cheers everybody....
