I heard G.D Bakshi on TV was saying that India has 200 million unpemployed youth , isn't everybody forgetting this problem 8-10 booming cities are now face of India while villages small towns are lagging behind.The Jat reservation and Patidar reservation are some of ticking sign of this bomb.

Govt. Servants earn too much, especially as they get old (salaries keep increasing). Monthly salary of 1 lac is common (plus the bribes, where ever possible). And the output, the productivity is zero.

 

So instead of 1 person earning 1 lac, employ 10 people with 10,000 salary or 7 people with 14000 salary. This will solve majority of the problem.

That will be considered as exploitation , industry has always tried to hire cheap labour in masses but , labour laws and communist unions always came in their way , now everywhere they are using more and more machines with less skilled workforce

in my mom's and dad's offices (govt. offices), there are already many contractual white collar workers earning anywhere between 8k to 15k per month.

 

Govt. knows if it takes permanent employee on its payroll, he/she will be a HUGE burden on the taxpayer for his/her entire lifespan. A teacher in his/her late 50s gets 1 lac pm salary today  and gets ~1 Cr (pf+gratuity) on his/her retirement btw. Add to this the pension he/she will get for life. Better hire people on contract and Govts. are doing it.

In couple of decades lot of manual labor will be overridden by machines..already too many automation projects going to eliminate manual labor.

This is why there needs to be more and more Govt. hiring.

 

The best countries (best on HDI, satisfaction rankings etc) happen to be those where Govt. employs as many as half the total employed people.

 

Our Govts. are totally incompetent as they raise salaries so much (now with the 7th pay commission) that they cant hire more people.

 

Such glaring mismanagement....its so frustrating.

If you don't hike salary either good people will not come or more corruption.

 

Best way is to make them accountable and pay hike/perks etc based on performance....Low performers should be moved down or lay off.

Have that as well....but for a very select few top jobs like the job of RBI governor, PSU banks' CEOs etc.

 

Larger goal should always be of hiring as many people as possible which is possible when salary is low (which ofcourse isnt possible as salaries have been raised and continue to be raised and overall CTC to the Govt. including pensions etc is too high for hiring en masse).

And soon some political party  will promise  them permanent jobs and will get into power and then put them in permanent position, Isn't AAP one of the point was to end thekedaari system,

Something is going to happen...there will be definitely far less Manufacturing jobs + even software testing jobs will be reduced drastically.

Every repetitive tasks are going to be fully automated or at least partially..(for Tharki people your fav job will be still secure )

I wonder some times who is going to buy items if jobs are reduced considerably.

This is democracy where if few people can unite then they can force govt to bow to their demands

if there is an increase in automation, gear your schools to produce repairmen(women) and operators. In the new environment, unskilled jobs will be replaced by low skilled or semi skilled. 

 

Besides, India isnt solving the poverty problem in this century or the next. So forget that and focus on increasing total productivity. First learn to crawl...

Govt. servants' salaries became even more high after 7th cpc. they will receive arrears too. total arnd 1 lac crore additional annual burden on  govt. expenditure. 

 

so sad. no wonder people jealous of govt. employees.
