Brad Hogg referred to an Indian player as a "bastard"

Recommended Posts

Point si when will the mofo Shard pawar show balls whihc we used to se in Dalmia
Sharad Pawar wont be bothered even if Hogg had called him a bastard. All he wants is to become the next ICC president or the whore of the Aussies, wherever he can make more money!:hatsoff:

Only if you let it be ... speak out and speak often and as loud as you can ... us Indians have a shockingly poor understanding of the concept of "Protecting our Interests" ... we leave it to others. This is not the first time we got mauled by Umpires - Remember the B'lore Test ? There was a similar outcry on that day as well on the old board .... as time went by one by one all of them started singing praises of the Ugly ones ... none of you bothered to counter. If you start acknowledging muggery then it sends a message that we dont mind getting mugged and the nateja is you will get mugged again and again. This is one of those instances where Gandhigiri is a major disaster.
For once, BB, I'm in total agreement.

Hogg called someone a bastard? Give me a break. That is about as offensive as calling someone a prick. I'm not quite sure what part of 'monkey' you people don't find to be racist. I'm sure as heck if Ponting called Harbhajan a turban wearing monkey you would all be livid because it would refer to the fact that he has coloured skin, as it does with Symonds.

In Indian Culture, A monkey is used to refer to someone whos acting a bit silly or dumb.Meanwhile, a bastard is the most derogatory terms. Its pretty much the opposite as in Aus. So if Bhaji can be suspended, so should Hogg. Atleast in bhajji's case, its cheaters/liars who are known to stoop to any low, making the allegation.

Yes. He has an injured finger. Cricinfo: "Scans did not reveal a fracture and Hogg is most likely to be replaced by Shaun Tait should Australia opt for four-pronged pace attack."
Hopefully that'll give him time to clear his illegitimacy. Looks like he is concerned about this and goes around calling every one an illegitimate ...... Hoggs: You're welcome to show your skills not your attitude!

Hogg Charged For Offensive Remark Brad Hogg, the Australian chinaman bowler, has been charged under Level 3 of the ICC Code of Conduct following a complaint by Indian team manager Chetan Chauhan. Hogg was accused of making an offensive remark to Anil Kumble and Mahendra Singh Dhoni during the second Test in Sydney. Mike Procter, the match referee at the SCG, set January 14 as the date for the preliminary hearing. If found guilty, Hogg could be banned for two to four Tests or for eight one-day internationals. Paragraph 3.3 of the Code of Conduct refers to players or team officials "using language or gestures that offends, insults, humiliates, intimidates, threatens, disparages or vilifies another person on the basis of that person's race, religion, gender, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin". The charge comes two days after Harbhajan Singh was found guilty of a racial insult and banned for three Tests. He was also charged under Level 3 and found guilty. The Indian board has now appealed against the three-match ban imposed on him and he can be picked for India's Tests while the appeal is being processed. source: cricinfo

Hogg didn't want to offend Indians Canberra: Australian spinner Brad Hogg is unlikely to contest the Indian charge of a foul slur against Anil Kumble and Mahendra Singh Dhoni when the hearing comes up in Perth on Monday. Hogg apparently had abused Kumble as well as Dhoni after the two were batting to draw the Test on the final afternoon of the controversial Sydney Test. "I can't wait to run through you 'B******ds'," Hogg is alleged to have uttered at the Indians who have taken an exception to the remark since it has connotations of being born out of a wedlock. Hogg on his part is likely to suggest that the word is used as mate-ship in the Australian culture and he did not mean to offend the Indians. The bowler has been charged with a serious level III offence of racial abuse. The section 3.3 of the ICC Code of conduct refers to players or team officials "using language or gestures that offends, insults, humiliates, intimidates, threatens, disparages or vilifies another person on the basis of that person's race, religion, gender, colour, descent, or national or ethic origin". The case is being seen by one of Cricket Australia's legal and business affairs general manager Dean Kino. CA's anti-racism officer Peter Young doesn't see anything amiss in the Indian charge. "India is entitled to lay a charge against Hogg, as Ricky Ponting did against Harbhajan. Our view is that it's the appropriate process. And the same process should be invoked if India has a concern," he said. http://www.cricketnext.com/news/hogg-didnt-want-to-offend-indians/28814-13.html --- Now my question is.. didn't bhaji call symonds "monkey" as mate-ship in the Indian culture. These guys are taking us for granted

I think we should move on. It's not so much racial as it is made out to be. Sure Bhajji shouldn't be banned but going to the referee for every word said is a bit OTT.
Can't agree, Ravi. It was the Australian's who brought it out in public. And if there is no immediate retaliation, there is nothing stopping them as getting players banned a part of their "gamesmanship". This had to be stopped immediately and full marks to Kumble for doing so. In fact, acouple of more teams should follow suit and give the Aussies a dose of their underarm bowling.
