Yes, I totally agree with you. Applauding opposition doesnt necessarily mean you are not supporting your own team.

However many (like cricketics here) think that way and hence I replied to him that it need not necessarily be the right thing.

I will rephrase it again if you didn't get what I previously wrote. Applauding is great, but it is a culture in sport. It is not something to be proud of the way people are sharing about it. It is common now all over the world, hence nothing to be proud of as everyone does it. You have to be proud when someone does something special or unique.

And I never said that Chennai people never supported India. You seem to assume a lot. Please re read the comments. You read half the post and make stuff up.

Also, I pointed out that it is also good to get under the skin of the opposition at times. So it is not a problem to do it or shouldn't be considered an unsporting crowd if some section of the crowd sledges the player.

Cricinfo:  "16K attendance in a stadium with 32K capacity and I was denied ticket after standing in queue for almost 3 hours!! So who is the culprit??"

 

Same thing happened to my brother on 1st day of Mumai test. All these complementary passes should be reduced significantly if we are to see tests in India with full stadium!

I posted this Cricinfo comment in the match thread as well. Al these free passes are leading to half empty stadiums. Also in this test turnout was even lesser because of road issues due to the Cyclone and this test being a dead rubber.

Sunday today, with Indian full batting line up left to bat. I hope there is a great turn out today.

All the road issues leading to the stadium better now? If 16k attended, that tells me that the situation has improved, hopefully.
