War of words on JNU terrorism course

JNU's Academic Council recently passed a proposal for setting up a 'Centre for National Security Studies' which is also set to have a course on Islamic Terrorism in the 21st century among other pressing issues which affect India's national security.

 

Needless to say all hell has broken loose. A large number of JNU teachers and students have launched a protest against what they believe is BJP's move to malign the Muslim community. They also say that Islamic terrorism is a myth, essentially a Western construct post 9/11 . Delhi Minorities Commission, JNU Students Union, AISF, JNU Teacher's Association, Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind, AMU unions, Jamia Millia student bodies, PFI etc are planning to launch a nationwide movement to condemn this proposal. 

 

WTF is going on in India  ? How is it communal agenda to set up a department on National Security and HTF is Islamic terrorism a conspiracy of West and Hindutva elements? It is out there staring, laughing at us. This country has gone to dogs. Can't believe tax payers' money goes to subsidize such institutes, shambles !!!!
