King Tendulkar
Seriously this needs discussing! Can anyone see a justifiable reason? Bowling is now military medium, injury prone, worst fielder in international cricket since Tufnell and worst batsman since Devon Malcolmn. Anyone see a reason why he gets picked? Disgraceful decision to pick him! Link to comment
msb1991
Actually, I think you'll find that he is a fair bit quicker than military medium pace in Test matches. His most recent Test series was against Pakistan in India in 2007, he managed to bowl at 142kph in that series and consistently probed in the high 130s kph. His issue there was pitching too short and not recieving any pace off the pitch - hardly a major issue. He has a good Test record and has been in good FC form - he clearly has what it takes to succeed at Test level and is rightfully in the Test squad on merit. Link to comment

amits
he is in the team due to the quota-system. there is a whole thread discussing that. pravin kumar should have been there in the test team in place of munnabhai Link to comment
satishg
he is in the team due to the quota-system. there is a whole thread discussing that. pravin kumar should have been there in the test team in place of munnabhai Praveen kumar is nothing wen the ball doesn swing..he becomes a military medium in these conditions..im not fan of Munaf but he is better than Praveen Kumar in tests bowling wise..enuf of this stupid quota system this that..Munaf was there coz Sree was injured and there are not may fast bowling talents around..Munaf has played tests and that experience would have worked in his favour and anyway he is not expected to be in the playing 11..and msb rightly pointed out why he is a gud bowler in tests.. amits
pravin kumar would have had more helpful conditions in sl. in sl, the ball does swing Link to comment

King Tendulkar
Munaf so excited me when he played on debut against england! Fast, accurate etc. Been such a let down since. Now he is just a waste of space! Link to comment
amits
given a choice between munaf & pravin kumar in tests, who would u pick?????? i would go with pravin kumar Link to comment
msb1991
I'd have to go with Munaf, Kumar has shown himself ordinary with the old ball even in domestic cricket and he won't always get the new ball in Tests. Link to comment
yoda
pravin kumar is about as ordinary as they come, his fluke wickets in CB and anywhere else past, present or future notwithstanding. Link to comment
msb1991
He is something special with the new ball though and can be awkward in ODIs with the old ball due to his lack of pace and bounce and troubling line and length. In Tests, I fail to see how he can be impactful with the old ball though. Link to comment
chanakya
PK is a trundler in tests. Munaf should be much better Link to comment
