Gambit
22* (48b 3x4) Who am I referring to? Link to comment
Chandan
Who is it? Dhoni? Parthiv? Or someone from older matches?? Link to comment
coffee_rules
If it was Engineer's innings in 1971 oval test, it was 28*, that was crucial to India's chase in the second innings of 174 in 101 overs. Yes, they needed 101 overs to get to 174. Boy, talk about nerves in the first overseas series win in Eng!!!!! Link to comment
The Outsider
Given the fact that Kapil batted at number 7 for most of his career, he would have the greatest number 7 innings by an Indian. Also, Mongia's 52 in the Chennai test was from number 7. Link to comment
Donny
I once hit 22 n.o. at #7 for Toonumbar. Link to comment
Gambit
No one has got it thus far. This might give it away though. #7 in question played that innings in his debut test. Link to comment
Tapioca
Great question. Had to dig through some 30 or 40 scorecards before getting to this Test match but once I reached there, it was obvious  Link to comment

The Outsider
Dighe in the Chennai test '01? If it is then the debut test hint answered it for me. Link to comment
Gambit
Dighe in the Chennai test '01? If it is then the debut test hint answered it for me. Correct. Among the innings I've seen, that has to be the most crucial contribution from an Indian #7(maybe even the most crucial knock from an Indian wk among the games I've seen). Winning a test against a team, that was probably among the two best teams of all times, with the series tied 1-1, was an unforgettable achievement. Link to comment
Gambit
And all this after he had been crucified for his abysmal keeping in the test! Link to comment
