SA recall Albie Morkel for T20s, maiden call-up for Hendricks

Allrounder Albie Morkel has been recalled to South Africa's squad for the three T20s against Australia and the forthcoming World Twenty20. The other major addition to the squad is fast bowler Beuran Hendricks, who earned a maiden call-up after finishing as the leading wicket-taker - 28 wickets in 11 games at an average of 10.28 - in the recent Ram Slam T20 challenge. Morkel, who holds the record for most Twenty20 appearances, last played for South Africa in October 2012 during the World T20 in Sri Lanka. Since then, the allrounder featured in IPL 2013 and was also signed by Derbyshire as their T20 specialist for last season's Friends Life t20 competition. In the Ram Slam T20, Morkel scored 202 runs in 10 games at an average of 28.85 and took two wickets. "Both Beuran and Albie fully deserve their selection following outstanding campaigns in the Ram Slam T20," Andrew Hudson, CSA's selection convener, said. "As always, there are unlucky players but we feel we have chosen the right combination for the conditions we are likely to encounter on the sub-continent. "Beuran's claims could not be ignored and the experience that Albie will bring on board is important for a high-profile tournament of this nature. The bulk of these players (11 out of 15) were part of our squad that won their T20 series in Sri Lanka last year under similar conditions." South Africa squad for Australia T20s and World T20: Faf du Plessis (capt), Hashim Amla, Farhaan Behardien, Quinton de Kock, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Beuran Hendricks, Imran Tahir, David Miller, Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Aaron Phangiso, Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe

He is among the top wicket takers if we combine all seasons. Surely they aren't racked up just by picking up low quality domestic batsmen? And anyway he will get turners in BDesh.
dunno but he always looks poor against good teams in ODIs:hmmm:

Uncapped Cottrell in World T20 side

West Indies will be without Kieron Pollard in their World Twenty20 defence after he was ruled out due to his ongoing recovery from a knee injury. All 13 men named for the Twenty20s against Ireland this month were included in the World Twenty20 squad, along with the batsman Johnson Charles and fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell, while there was no room for Tino Best. Cottrell, 24, has played one Test against India in Kolkata last year but is yet to make his debut in either of the shorter formats for West Indies. A left-arm fast bowler from Jamaica, he played for the Antigua Hawksbills at the Caribbean Premier League last year and collected eight wickets at 21.75 and an economy rate of 6.44. Charles was also included after missing out on the Ireland games; he struggled on the recent limited-overs tour of New Zealand but has the potential to be a matchwinner at the top of the order. However, West Indies will be hurt by the absence of another clean striker, with Pollard still recovering from a knee injury he sustained last year. Pollard injured his knee while playing in a charity football match and he said last month that he was holding out some hope of being available for the World T20, but his recovery did not prove quick enough to allow him to be considered for selection. West Indies are the reigning World T20 champions after beating hosts Sri Lanka in the final in Colombo in October 2012. West Indies squad Darren Sammy (capt), Samuel Badree, Dwayne Bravo, Johnson Charles, Sheldon Cottrell, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Krishmar Santokie, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith.
