As a foreigner I will give you my two rupees worth at stadiums I have been to in India Chepauk : This was ten years ago and my first visit to India , within the little complex it sits in various sport facilities like swimming , squash ( watched the Indian no 1 at the time training , she played man after man it was impressive) etc are there on site , the stadium felt good not just a concrete bowl with the added private Madras Cricket Club within the stadium where I stayed with it's seating verdandas it broke it up to look like stadium. Vadodara: a mini Modi stadium ( 50, 000) just a concrete bowl with no character , 24kms outside Vadodara reached on the most horrendous road where you go 3kms past it and turn back on a dirt track , cars, motorcycles and scooties all parked in muddy fields DYPatel : old stadium but I did enjoy the walk through the campus with no traffic and I did two interviews for DYPatel stadium and some you tuber much to my Ranji Trophy Indian mate jealousy Eden Gardens : this is worst , needs completely modernised, everything felt and looked bad about it but had more catering available than any other . The biggest plus about it for me was the locals were the most friendliest I must have had about 200 selfies taken , children and men just wanted their photo with me taken . Ahmedabad: Yes it's big but I find it a concrete souless place , seats are crushed together , every ground I have been to 2 security checks and you are at your seat , at Ahmedabad it is 7 checks and the " stewards " think they are the gastapo. It's handily situated at edge of city , metro stops outside but I found it to be a concrete dust bowl . To the rest of you Indians people of Ahmedabad think they are the centre of the cricketing world now. Rajkot " my favourite, yes it's small by Indian standards but it felt like a proper stadium not a concrete bowl , outside it's bright and airy with space , this stadium I got the whole guided tour everywhere as my best Indian friend is Saurashtra hall of famer , 12kms outside Rajkot but the road was great . Ahmedabad as a city is not geared up for a huge influx of visitors , apart from a handful of hotels 90% of them are on the ring road well away from the centre , all those 3/4* hotels are geared up for mainly business people with very little facilities like a swimming pool , space outside etc . Ahmedabadiens are boasting that a proper 5* hotel is going to be built for the commonwealth games ...wow

Who said they were under any obligation to offer them a contract ? The whole point is Irish people do not need a work permit to work in the UK . There are Northern Irish players in the Irish team and they live in the UK have British passports but are treated as overseas players that is against the Law . Eoin Morgan had dual citizenship because of his mother being English , had resided in England since age 15 . Quite a few Irish players played in the English counties but when Ireland became a " full member " they became " overseas " players and lost like every Irish person the automatic right to work in the UK as the same as any British person and became the same as Indians , Pakistanis etc . Every Scottish, English , Welsh, Northern Irish AND Irish person has exactly the same working rights in every workplace in the UK and vice versa in Ireland except in cricket. As I said Cricket rules don't override the Laws of the country

The ECB and The Hundred already discriminate against Irish players men and women who have the right to work in the UK under an reciprocal agreement by classifying them as overseas players in the county championships and the hundred . ICC and ECB rules do not override the Laws of England and Wales . As yet no Irish player has taken the ECB to court probably due to the expense .

Having been at eden gardens 2 weeks ago concrete miraculously turned into seats but it's still a filthy stadium and worst I have visited in India. I find this debate fascinating about Modi stadium and Ahmedabad becoming " epi centre" of Indian cricket . There are valid points on both sides of the argument but in cricketing terms you just got beat by a better side on the day .

His father left Pakistan to Zimbabwe, Raza tried to be an Air force pilot but failed the eye test , his father then sent him to Scotland for 4 years engineering diploma , I think he had played a bit of cricket pre University but then the story of his cricket in Scotland . After graduating he went bak to Zimbabwe and asked his father for one year to be a cricketer and like I said the rest is history .

Why is it an upset , have you looked at the backgrounds of most of those "italian" players , Australian state , BBL , South African National team, province experience , English county cricket . The players in Italian team have a lot of experience of high level cricket

When Rahul played for Scotland he was hugely popular , he did a lot more than play some games , he travelled all round the country meeting people visiting clubs . That wasn't his first visit to Scotland though , I fact all of that generation played as young 17/18 year olds ( Sachin 15) being brought to us by an ex Ranji Trophy guy Kailash Gattani who played in Scotland who formed Star Cricket Club in Mumbai .
