I used to believe in "best player face as many balls as possible" theory, however that has relevance in T20 format but  not in ODIs in this era ( 300 balls are plenty).

Virat has shown no desire to make a solid team, instead he has backed the tried and tested formula to avoid defeats.This is where i like someone like Morgan, he consistently drops himself to try new combo/players and what a team they have at the moment.Ind is capable of much more I think but we have been way too diffident.

 

But i may add, bakchodi bohat ki hai about changing things and making a team

I would have given a shot to Iyer, Nair or Raina. Once again Pant as Wkt Kpr is fine as a specialist batsman there are plenty of others.
