fineleg Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Sure we can all create them and cause more fights, but Mods can proactively disallow such ids to be created when intent is quite clearly to engage in fights. bongasamaj2 is a recent example of such a user id. brother of cc, right.

King Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 We know of all of the users that have created duplicate IDs and also login as duplicates when convenient. Just that we don't want to make them public. We sure should instruct some of the blokes not to create duplicate IDs. Some do to enter super selector competition and some for fun. I think it's high time we let them know. As for other IDs like Bongosamaj2, there is not much we can do. People have rights to create IDs as they like as far as it is not abusive words used as ID.
fineleg Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 ravi, creating dupe ids is ok. there may be many reasons. when dupe ids are used specifically to rile, then thats the issue when u need to step in. otherwise dupes are ok. anyways its internet forum only.
aussiefan Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 on a few other boards i am on, they ban anyone with AE's, alter ego's, for good reason. they are doing this only to troll.......then again, i have been accused of this....but all under the same id certain people already talked about in this thread are "silly" people anyway, and i have no respect for them

Go ahead. but if u want to spend time logging out of ur original id, logging in with ur dupe id *specifically* to attack a fellow forum member, then i will complain to the Mods. Mods, pls. look into this dupe id (i hope its not one of "you" Mods, but maybe it is), and disallow this. Clearly this id is created to escalate personal attacks, and I can escalate it too. But I prefer to not indulge in a war of words here. Hopefully you will remove this id which is created with explicit intention to make trouble.

Anyone can create ids like that and use it for ruckus. Ofcourse, you'll say "go ahead and create if u want", but i dont think it is necessarily great for the forum to keep indulging in tit for tat wars. Hence my appeal to the Mods to disallow those once it is quite apparent to any one with intelligence what the intention is. As I said, I can take this matter into my own hands and create a set of ids as well. That may eventually be the simpler approach if nothing else works. Coz I wont want to sit and take BS from anyone - the only reason I wait is to see if such things will be disallowed and I dont need to indulge in it myself.

Similarly the BS2 id is a duplicate user id to attack/bother/pester another user of this forum. When ids are created with explicit intention like that, then: 1. Ideally, Mods themselves can see it for what it is, and step in to say - Nope not allowed. 2. The members who are being heckled, can themselves resort to similar or other means and that will only involve in a slang fest. Enough of this debate, hope we dont need to escalate this matter any further. I will post/complain/criticize/praise cricketers, actors, coaches, selectors whatever. You can do the same. Lets not make this personal. Our object of ire or praise are public personalities - not each other.
