Are people in here forgetting the reason that we now have neutral umpires in test cricket is because of the way touring teams that visited Indian and Pakistan in the past were treated? They were on the receiving end of blatant cheating, there's no other way to put it. If it weren't for this, Australia and India may have had Simon Taufel, the umpire who has been voted Umpire of the year every year since 2004, in control of the match. If this were the case who is to say that Ponting would not have received a terrible LBW decision when he was given out in the first innings, and Symonds may have been given out when he edged it. But no, India had to ruin it for the rest of the world and it's coming back to haunt them. Thanks India.

Wow, you showed me Rohip. Oh that's right, if a decision goes against an Indian/Pakistan then it is clearly racist......Great argument, well done!! If the Pakistani's didn't tamper with the ball, there would be no problem. If Murali didn't chuck, there would be no problem. Why can't some teams just play by the rules? Australia plays by the rules, and it has dominated cricket like no other team in history. I don't get it.........

You've hit the nail on the head with that last statement.

Hair's an Aussie so there's no way he can be in the wrong must be those brown people who are the cheaters like the Indians, the Pakis and the Sri Lankans Aussies are the most fair non-bump catch claiming, always walking people on the earth. i mean Gilly never claims a catch which he knows didnt edge the bat, of course he doesnt he's a walker so come on umpires give him the benefit

this happened all around the world. On Pak's tour of WI in 1988 the umpire himself admitted that he was cheating because he was worried that the locals would burn his house down. Then there was Gooch's run out of 1992 where he was out by yards and is widely considered as one of the worst decisions in the history of test cricket.

yeah he might have even given Ponting out to Ganguly before that. At that time it was because of the way touring teams that visited Indian and Pakistan in the past were treated? Let's just say it was because the power in cricket at that time lay in the hands of some other people who are always honest. Not to forget the 90 over a day rule which was brought into place because of the WI time wasting tactics which was blatantly being forgotten in the Perth test match for some time.

Come on, at least have some understading of what happened in Perth before you start accusing players of things. Ponting was forced to bowl the part timers Clarke and Symonds for longer than he wanted because of the slow over rate. He did this because he was facing the possibility of being suspended for 1 match. Hardly "blatantly being forgotten" is it? And on the matter of time wasting, how about that stunt the Indians pulled by sending out Sharma with the wrong gloves in the dying stages at Sydney? What a low act. Luckily it didn't affect the outcome of the match.
