Dooks
I think it may be time to accept that Mr Yuvraj Singh is just not up to the standard required in test cricket – the technique, temperament and mental strength are just not there, no matter what his parents may claim. Geoff Boycott has made exactly the same points in that he does not have the correct technique to be able to play long test innings on a regular basis. His track record seems to consistent of low scores and the occasional high one – for a quality test player it needs to be the other way around. Just when Dravid appears to be back in nick we now have a gaping hole where Ganguly used to bat and the Indian Graeme Hick is not the answer. Exactly. He seems like indian version of Graeme Hick. I think he is one of the top 5 for T20 and ODI but sadly lacking style for test. But he will score an odd fifty and the test selectors will give him another test series. Link to comment
kirtan
Badrinath or Pujara or Rahane should replace him. (Badri is my choice). But I know Dhoni will never let Yuvi down. By the way stop the non sense quota policy by not selecting Dropthik, M Vijay and Balaji. Link to comment
cochise
Yuvraj will come good...even in the second innings of this test match. Wait and see...you have to be patient. :--D Link to comment
kirtan
He will do great in the second innings. IF NZ are all out for 100 runs in their first innings. :) Link to comment
cochise
That's not fair. He has performed well under pressure too...just recently against England on a five day pitch. And when he began his career, admittedly in ODI's, there were many occasions when he batted India out of a tight corner...and also in tests against Pak. Give him a break. Link to comment
kirtan
Cochise, the problem is not sub continental or overseas pitch, pressure or no pressure situation, his correct/wrong technique. It's his mind set. He can't defend!!! Obviously, against pak he is always in attacking mood regardless of team situation. Link to comment
