Obviously not...remember he has called for war with Pakistan before to 'permanently neutralize the terrorist threat'. Glad that his type isnt in charge. Do you realize the aftermath of such a war ? There will be no one left to celebrate victory, only the stench of dead bodies exposed to radiation Precisely. I am afraid your views and assumptions on war and military tactics are alarmingly simplistic ! has to do with his background- he has close affiliations with military personnel (not the really high-ranking ones mind you). Hence the typically self-defeatist and blundering 'shoot first, ask questions later' mindset.

Now, the only active guys in the Politics forum are Lurks and Shwetabh and all the three of us pretty much share a similar ideology. KR comes and goes on and off while Cricaddict is also mostly centrist. So, no room for debates. :(( Its getting boring nowadays on ICF...

Funny you should say that Sriram. This morning there was this idea put forth by Nichloas Kristof of NYT that discussing ideas with opposite school of thought actually lowers the tolerance of people these days. And one of the reasons given was Internet. It did make me seriously wonder if he was right? Afterall any time you hear a bomb blast in Pakistan, then go to one of Pakistan's message board all sympathetic and all that, checking the popular sentiments and suddenly you run into denials and worse anti-India angle. You lose all the empathy and just switch back wondering if they deserve it? Even in India you can pick a topic (say Gujrat) and see how quickly discussing the issue with an opposite school of thought actually ends up polarizing people lot more. But of course being a romantic I will keep chasing the idea of discussing with opposite school of thought and yes I do miss BB/DR...even if I probably called them chaddidharis lot more than I called them by their monikers! xxx

Somehow, I feel your brain has to be wired up in certain ways. In this constant battle between the Left and the Right the world over, the Left always thinks its right and the right always think they’re right. I am pretty sure, in his mind, DR absolutely believes 100% in what he says. Ditto for me too. Who is right and who is wrong? I am not sure. In fact, I am not even sure there’s a right and a wrong here.

Just last-week in rajdhani express bumped into a beardless clean shaven muslim lawyer quite surprisingly fan of Narendra Modi, we had lengthy debate rather chorus.. Talked about everything only when topic veered towards sucide bombing I came to know he was muslim given hsi very very slight sympathy. Phir urdu Mushayara ka bhi daur chala it was fun all round, :D He told me the story behind following couplet of Iqbaal. When muslims in pakistan over-night changed a Gurudwara into mosque Iqbal was so pained that he wrote these words Maszid to bana li shab bhar mein iman ke hararat walon ne Man Apana purana paapi hai barson mein namazi ban na saka Iqbaal bara updehshal hai man baton mein moh leta hai Guftaar ka gaazi ye to bana kirdaar ka gaaji ban na saka awesome stuff wasnt Iqbal dead before partition?.
