This guy used to host a chat show on Zee and now is a RS member and has been part of the Indian team in some capacity or another since 2002. Must be well connected.
I remember him from that show as well because he always said "miltay hain BRAK ke baad". From being a so called honest journalist all of a sudden he joined Sonia Madam ji ki Kangress.

The BCCI has promised to support its Pakistan counterpart on their jeopardised series against Australia, provided the cricket board here extends its continued support to IS Bindra's nomination for the ICC chief executive's post. Pakistan is trying hard to convince the Australians to tour the country in March-April for a scheduled Test series but the Aussies have indicated their players are not keen on the series due to security concerns and also because of reservations over one or two of the proposed venues, including Karachi. Some have also blamed Ricky Ponting and his teammates' reluctance to tour Pakistan to the lucrative Indian Premier League which clashes with the Pakistan-Australia series. Well placed sources told PTI today that PCB officials Shafqat Naghmi and Subhan Ahmed had met their Indian counterparts in New Delhi few days ago to persuade them to either play a tri-series with Australia in Pakistan or to come for a bilateral one-day rubber. "The same offer was also made to the Sri Lankan board officials today in Colombo," the source disclosed. He said the Indians had shown no interest in the tri-series but agreed to consider touring Pakistan for a short tour sometime in April and even to pressurise Australia to tour Pakistan subject to the PCB continuing to support Bindra's nomination in the ICC. The source said PCB Chairman Nasim Ashraf, who is on the ICC scrutiny committee that has shortlisted four or five candidates for the ICC position, had been pushing for the appointment of Bindra but no other country, including Sri Lanka, have extended support for the senior BCCI official. "Imtiaz Patel, who heads the Super Sports in South Africa is supposed to be the strongest candidate to take over from ICC CEO Malcolm Speed this year," the source said. The source said India promised its support to Pakistan provided they back Bindra. "The Indians have basically conveyed that they are in a position to convince the Australians to tour Pakistan if nothing else at least for a one-day series," the source said. The source said Sri Lankan officials had told Naghmi and Subhan today they could not play the tri-series with Australia because they were already committed to hosting India and South Africa for a tri-series soon. "PCB has now asked the Sri Lankans to play a five-match one-day series in Pakistan in case the Australians don't tour at all," the source said. The cash-strapped Sri Lankan board has asked for time to think over the offer. The source said Cricket Australia had given feelers they would be able to convince their players to play a tri-series just before the IPL in neighbouring India at one or two venues. "The Australians have indicated they might be able to get their players to agree to play one or two venues like Lahore and Faisalabad," the source stated.

Pakistan mull ODIs with India if Australia pull out Pakistan are considering inviting India for a quickfire series of ODIs if, as is becoming increasingly likely, Australia pull out of their scheduled tour in March-April. Doubts about whether Australia will come for their first tour in nearly a decade have increased day-by-day over the last week, the latest coming from Ricky Ponting, the Australian captain. The Pakistan board has all along insisted its priority is to get Australia to come to visit, but has privately admitted they are working on alternative options, which include inviting another country over. And a well-placed source revealed to Cricinfo that informal talks had been held with the BCCI about a series of ODIs in Pakistan in case Australia don't come. "There have been informal discussions with the BCCI but nothing has been firmed up. Things will become clearer in a day or so," the source said. "The first priority is still to get Australia to come over but if they don't come, options have to be and are being examined." Two PCB officials, including the chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi are currently touring India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for bilateral board talks regarding scheduling ahead of an ICC meeting to devise the Future Tours Programme (FTP) till 2013. The ostensible purpose of the mission is to fill the gaps in Pakistan's schedule in the current FTP. The current Pakistan administration is said to be unhappy over their predecessor's work on the last FTP, which has left Pakistan with a number of gaps in their cricketing calendar. "Pakistan played half the number of Tests that Australia did according to that FTP and that is something that needs to be rectified," the source said. But as a result of Australia's hesitancy, the trip has become an opportunity for Pakistan to try and arrange an alternative contest with countries who are free in March-April. Both boards, however, are officially denying the development. India, as ever, is hemmed in by a hectic schedule. Between their return from Australia and the first Test against South Africa, an ODI series, even just across the border, seems unlikely. "It's not possible," a senior BCCI official told Cricinfo. "The Indian team returns from Australia on March 8 and the first Test against South Africa starts in Chennai on March 26. Where is the time?" Ahsan Malik, the PCB spokesman, explained the board's focus was on getting Australia over. "This is an official trip with regards to the FTP till 2013. They wanted to meet boards and have a pre-scheduling round of meetings with them. Our full concentration is on playing Australia." © Cricinfo :banghead: :banghead: Spare our players for fck sakes :pray:. How many non-stop cricket can our men play? Where is the logic in this ?
