KARACHI, February 14: Throwing its weight behind the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the BCCI on Thursday warned Australia against pulling out of their March-April tour, saying the move could lead to serious repercussions. "There will be serious consequences because you can't just pull out a committed tour when the host board is giving you assurances about security and so is the government," BCCI vice-President Rajiv Shukla told 'Geo English'. Shukla said Cricket Australia (CA) should have faith in the PCB and be assured that its players would be safe. "...if the host board and government is willing to give assurances you have to accept that you can't just cancel a confirmed FTP tour. The hosts know best about the prevailing security situation," he said. Shukla, who toured Pakistan with the Indian team as an official in 2004 and 2006, said even when India was due to tour Pakistan its players were scared of playing. "But we decided to accept the assurances of the Pakistan board and government and the players supported us. Once the tour was over they were all very happy at making the tour," he said. "Similarly I think the Australians must listen to the arguments of the Pakistan board for whom the tour is important," he added. A PCB official welcomed Shukla's statement insisting it would have some bearing on the final decision of the Australians. "Indian board is an influential one because of its position in the cricket world and recently they have managed to get their point across to the Australians on some contentious issues on their ongoing tour," he said.

Now BCCI is well and truly assuming the proportions of US of A. BCCI warns CA now. BCCI should stick to Indian cricket and should stop getting into anything and everything. India also did not tour for about a decade if BCCI remembers because of security. I don't subscribe there is a security issue right now in Pakistan and Aussies are being over cautious but BCCI should clearly lay off this one.

BCCI can't manage it's own affairs and wants to advice others. They are acting like cheap bullies and making the country look bad. It's high time the courts asked them details about their moollah.......That will show them how to flaunt their money.sickos!

What in the world ! What next ? Rajiv Shukla advising Aus govt on foreign policy and how to handle East Timor ? Who does he think he is ? Some sort of Super-Authority over world of cricket. He is proving to be an embarrassment to most Indians.
Narendra Modi asked this idiot Shukla once: aap na not bowling kare kabhi na batting na umpiring par BCCI se magnet ki tarah chipaka gaye ho karan kkya hai:haha:

BCCI is just trying to let PCB that they are supporting them by sending a message to PCB. BCCI would not go anything behind that. By takin a stance like that, BCCI has shown solidarity by supporting PCB. But will not go anything beyond this. This is more lip service than anything more tangible.
