Merwe has lost his batting touch, and that is a big loss. Lack of allrounders is a big big worry right now. My team for next match would be: (drop Uthappa and Goswami. Can swap Kohli with Uthappa). Infact Merwe , PK and AK conceded only 62 runs yesterday in 12 overs for 2 wickets . If Steyn and Kallis were less expensive and Goswami effectd the run-out of Tiwari we might have defended 135. Open with Robin and play Dravid at a higher position then 6 . One more thing , dont bowl Kallis onside the first 6 overs .It worked in SA , it wont work here . It wont be a bad idea if Uthappa , Kallis and Kohli combine to finsh off 4 overs.

That said, once Ross and White (and KP) are in the squad, no way can we afford to play 2 overseas bowlers. We will have to pick one of Steyn, Merwe or Dupree. We might even go for none if Apanna and Vinay/Mithun can deliver the goods. A possible lineup in the offing: Pandey Kallis/KP Morgan Dravid White Ross Akhil Kumble Kumar Vinay/Mithun Apanna.

cowboysfan Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 i just hate the pitch at chinnaswamy.we probably have the worst bowling attack of all the teams but we have great batsmen who can play on any pitches but we continue to play on pattas where our bowlers can be replaced by bowling machines and we couldnt do any worse.
