Mumbai got a good bowling lineup as well. They didn't get a WK though...probably Uthappa can keep or they can get one from the catchment area. Maybe Mumbai Ranji team even has got a couple of hitters and if so they are the strongest imho.

Vijay Mallya is the only true cricket lover.... He is making his test team....:D
:haha::haha: I can understand Dravid and Kallis to an extent, but what in the world is Wasim Jaffer doing, playing 20/20 cricket. He couldnt slog to save his life, if it ever came to that.

Auction system wasn't fair Badrinath, Sangwan, Pujara etc. are going to make 10-50000$ whereas Tiwary is going to make 600,000$. I don't care about the overseas players...they are here to make free money anyways. But the domestic guys should not be humiliated like this.

This is an auction, its need not be based on logic/cricketing sense. Anyone can bid for anyone for any price he wants. The only thing is, guys like Hayden will be feel like an idiot, seeing players like Kaif and Tiwary making more than them.

No it actually ended up being dependent on who was on auction and at what stage...

Plus, many other random factors, like which team had how much money left, what players they had picked before etc. $9,75,000 for Jayasuriya is just nonsense, he is just a batsman, a not so good one at that, his bowling and fielding isnt that great. The best performers of 20/20 are those who can do 2/3 aspects of cricket well, or be truly outstanding at one. Sanath is niether. BTW, this auction has just confirmed that Dhoni is, currently, the biggest saleable star in Indian cricket. $1.5 for him is just staggering, so is the $1.35 for Symmonds. Symmonds will probably throw a lavish party to his mates tonight, so will Sanath. Imagine, Sanath, now 38 and DROPPED for his his own one day team for the next series, getting a windfall like this. I am beginning to think not becoming a professional cricketer is the biggest mistake of my life. The way its going at the moment, I may not be too averse to a late career change either.

Oh Maris did you play U-16 or anything? How old are you now? Cricket is still not good for domestic players and also you have to be a really good thinker or be great in English otherwise your life will be screwed after 35.

Nah mate, I was just kidding. Professional sport is probably the ONLY job from which you can retire at 35, earn your millions by then, and spend the rest of your life, talking about something you liked anyway to begin with, get paid for it too, have your name in various hall-of-fame and trophies and be treated like rock-stars. Come to think of it, most peoples' real professional lives start after they are 35, its just the opposite for sport.:giggle:
