Krunal Pandya’s knock today is a breath of fresh air

5th-6th bowlers usually go for runs in good batting conditions as the other team looks to target them .... there is no guarantee that another bowler would do well consistently .... a relatively good bowler like Tye had to rely on variations to be effective but could not pull it off on such surfaces

Exactly he was trying but had either an off day or his variations were just not good enough. Key word trying

Pandya was looking like a one dimensional darter.

One is a specialist bowler, one is a AR/handy cricketer who bowls as 5th-6th bowler, who usually get targeted :winky:

Did you expect him to bowl like Shane Warne? Is it the first time you have seen a 5th-6th bowler being taken for runs?

No I expected him to bowl like any half decent bowler who uses brains and may be changes things up like pace or length when being targeted. Would have got the benefit of doubt that the batsman was having one of those days.

but you said that Tye did that and went for runs (more expensive than Krunal) .... i did not see the game but I guess he could have been trying to hit the block hole :dontknow: .... anyways, it is his first game in Aus

Even last match against WI he got clubbed and all he did was dart faster. If he is going to give runs and not pick wickets, then might as well ask Kohli or Rohit to bowl those 4 overs.
