Oh wait... let us talk when AUS with their deep batting as they proved 'even in first test 4rth inns' scores 400+ and throws India out of the contest then and there. The prerequisite is a scary green top like Lords earlier this year. That's not the case here. Reading the pitch accurately is so crucial rather than going by gut feeling. Link to comment

Reading the pitch accurately is so crucial rather than going by gut feeling. it is not all about reading the pitch alone. reading the opposition players in detail too is crucial. For instance AUS has several left handers and hence Ashwin was to be a must thru out. That is 1 important point.Similarly this AUS batting line up is inexperienced and hence not that adept at playing unfamiliar type of bowling.Naturally china man Kuldeep who is such a rare commodity would have proved to be so vital. Either he would flop or he would turn it head on for India, no mid level. But he is yet to be given a chance. Similarly Jadeja who proved his worth in the most batting friendly pitch in ENG by taking 7 wkts and also picked 6 wkts in SAF in his lone outing there too. Means Jadeja can be at the least as worthy as the least effective seam bowler. In AUS generally left handed spinners have done well compared to right handed spinners. Link to comment
