zen Posted February 26, 2019 Author Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) With surgical strikes, Ind took a positive action and sent a message but at the end of the day, it mainly killed the terrorists that Pak was willing to sacrifice in Ind anyways (whereas Ind's soldiers were killed) .... Unless a sustained effort is done (with Pak Army suffering), Pak Army will not be affected (will cook up some story to keep the people in Pak not worried) and continue some other action against India Edited February 26, 2019 by zen

Both the countries are all talk and no action, there are bravado talks but after a few explosion, most will run for cover Have to push hard on LoC

How will Pak and India sort it out Terrorism can only be over in Kashmir if it stops getting support from Pakistan For Pakistan to stop supporting terrorists, it would have to gain in Kashmir (also Ind created BD so it lost territory) While Ind appears to be ok with status quo, it will not give up on Kashmir. Under Vajpayee, iirc, it was discussed to turn LoC into IB with provision for Kashmiris to cross the border freely .... But it did not work out If it cannot be resolved by talks, it has to through war. Other way is that either Ind or Pak become weak enough or break into small nations to gradually make Kashmir a non issue for them

What would you talk? Status quo is out. Pak will not give PoK. Ind will not give Kashmir Therefore, terrorism will not alleviate too. In fact, could turn into a Palestine esp. if money starts to pour in from places such as China War is a viable option. Or wait Pak to break up (but it may not happen and we could continue to lose our citizens to terrorism) We may have to fight for it. It is an unfinished business (and a case not handled well by Ind in the past)
