Kartikey
Mohammed Kaif has been in great form all season. Just look at his stats: 687 runs at an average of 57 in the Ranji Trophy 266 runs at an average of 87 in the Duleep Trophy And in both these comps, he had to captain his team but still came out scoring so many runs. In the last test series he played, he scored a beautiful century against the West Indies in a series where Yuvraj consistently failed. You guys are talking about Rohit Sharma, the guy has done well in ODI's, that does not mean he will convert his form onto Tests. And he had a pathetic Ranji season with an average of 27. That was one 50 in 5 games. So we cannot have him in the 5 day game yet. Badri would be another good option but Kaif needs to be there as well seeing as he is pretty experienced at senior level. bharat297
yeah he should be close. I feel he is too good a player to be left out completely. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Cos he is cr#p and cant hold a cricket bat propelry Link to comment
bharat297
He is a good ODI player, who I think could be a very handy addition to our middle order. Link to comment
cochise
Ya, he can be handy in ODIs. But how to fit him in? The ODI side is bursting at the seams with many youngsters and oldies all wanting to be in it...selectors got a big headache...they call this kind of headache a good headache to have...I don't know...too many choices... Zakhmi
He is already over talked and over n over given chances... Link to comment
Sachinism
Kaif has been given plenty of chances, maybe he just cant cut it at the international level currently there are soo many batsmen in India's domestic circuit who are making runs consistently, its about time they were given a chance too Link to comment
amits
kaif has to be there in the test team. and kaif should have been in the squad for the aus series instead of yuvraj. kaif, despite being the captain, has been in a smashing form in the ranji trophy & duleep trophy and in ranji, took up to the finals. also, kaif had done well against aus in the last series in 2004 Link to comment
sreej
I feel Kaif should be given a chance to... he's performed consistently well in domestic cricket. So has Parthiv Patel.. Link to comment
Anakin
Kaif is not good for ODIs, may be in test Link to comment
flamy
Because we like to sweep unpleasant things to talk about under the carpet... Link to comment
bharat297
This guy was a very good finisher, and won India many games ... and I feel that a middle order consisting of Sharma, Yuvraj and Kaif could be quite a handy middle order. When he got dropped it was warranted, because his form was slipping, but since then he has responded well in domestic cricket and should be at least close to the squad. He is in better one day form than Tiwary. Link to comment
Anakin
You're kidding me, he won handful of games in a long time. He should be compared with Tiwary after Tiwary has been given at least half the chances kaif got. Link to comment
Zakhmi
I feel Kaif should be given a chance to... he's performed consistently well in domestic cricket. So has Parthiv Patel.. 12 chances to PP and 1 to Kaif ...agreed. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Link to comment
msb1991
He is not being talked about because Indian fans settle for nothing less than greatness in a future prospect. Kaif will never be a great Test batsman, only a good one who will average at 40, maximum, based on his previous Test stint and his good (not great) FC record. Link to comment

Bumper
Kaipoo is a mediocre, untalented, hardworking cricketer. He has the temperament to play Test cricket. To be fair, he did play some good knocks before he was ousted. In ODIs however, he is as mediocre as it can get. Got to play for five friggin years & achieved absolutely nothing. He finished his ODI career just the way he started --by playing for his spot in the team. In between, played a supporting role in helping us win a handful of games, something many of our junior cricketers have already achieved in the early stages of their career. Finisher ? You guys must be kiddin me. The only thing he can finish, is India's chances. He is neither a power hitter nor a reliable innings builder. When you see a champion you'd know immediately. Kaipoo isnt one. With the likes of Rohit Sharma, Gambhir, Uthappa all sealing their spots, Kaipoo's ODI career is over. If the current lot fail, I'd like to see Raina, Tiwary & the likes given chances. This is a ODI team, that does not have a spot for Sehwag & you guys want Kaif, are u kiddin me ? The only thing Kaif must focus on, at this point, is Test cricket. When all our seniors retire, there will be plenty of opportunities for youngsters & he will get his chances then. Until then, hold onto your poo & stay away Kaipoo. Link to comment
rahul_desiz
totally agree with Bumper... Kaif is most useless and overrated ODI batsmen India ever got... other than Natwest final, he never won us any game... he was never a match winner...he used to come late down the order and still his strike rate was less than 70... in more than 100 odis, he only hit couple of sixes...never made quick runs when needed..as a matter of fact, he got so many of our players run-out... we need players like Yousuf Pathan as a late middle order batsmen..not someone like Kaif..kaif got more than enough chances and didnt do a jack Link to comment
diegovegaz
kaif has lost it that skinny man doesn't has the power to hit shots kaarthick will hit the ball harder Link to comment
