zen Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Kangaroos needed wkts. Lyon was their remaining hope. Below is what happened to Lyon on his first ball: Quote Lyon to Roy, SIX runs, launched down the ground first ball! Roy plants this for a straight six, never mind the fact long-on was back! Welcome to the game, Garry This is an amazing strategy. Bulldogs knew that if Lyon settled down, he could create issues so unsettled him straight away. This was a major Bulldog moment while batting! Then Smith was introduced in 16th over, where Eng hit 3 6s in a row Quote 15.5 6 Smith to Roy, SIX runs, OUT OF THE GROUND! Or into the top tier at least... Roy goes into Beast Mode with a murderous blow down the ground. Brutal from Roy, who's having fun now 15.4 6 Smith to Roy, SIX runs, goes again, hard and flat for a straight six! Humpty-Dumpty and it sails over the rope 15.3 6 Smith to Roy, SIX runs, full toss, smeared over the head of long-on! No chance for the leaping Maxwell this time, clattered down the ground for six Great approach and attitude by Eng. And the reason why we watch white ball cricket!
velu Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 roy is actually crap vs spin .. thats the only way he can handle spinners and the decision to try smith
zen Posted July 15, 2019 Author Posted July 15, 2019 (edited) In the final, it was probably Buttler keeping his cool and positioning himself proactively to run Guptill out. I can’t remember who threw the ball in but it was perfectly synchronized. Delivered in an extremely high pressure situation! Edited July 15, 2019 by zen
