Kangaroos needed wkts. Lyon was their remaining hope. Below is what happened to Lyon on his first ball:

This is an amazing strategy. Bulldogs knew that if Lyon settled down, he could create issues so unsettled him straight away. This was a major Bulldog moment while batting! 

 

Then Smith was introduced in 16th over, where Eng hit 3 6s in a row

In the final, it was probably Buttler keeping his cool and positioning himself proactively to run Guptill out. I can’t remember who threw the ball in but it was perfectly synchronized. 

 

Delivered in an extremely high pressure situation!
