Once upon a time they were sympathetic towards India (esp during our freedom struggle), till a few years back even reasonable, right now anti-India, pro-Pak, pro-Muslim.....they side with Pakistanis on Kashmir issue. London's mayor Sadiq Khan is from Labour, many other Muslims in that party, many Islamic fundamentalists cos that party encourages antisemitism. Labour has been out of power for a decade now....Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were the most recent UK PMs from Labour. UK run by Conservative (centre right) presently, earlier anti-India, right now our best bet. They don't succumb before the Islamists/Pak easily, free market economic policies....socially not extreme like Republicans or BJP, you get the drift? They are nationalist, bitterly opposed the Scottish independence referendum, endorsed Brexit, frequently clash with EU, pro-NATO. People from older generation generally support Conservatives...not that many racists (unlike earlier times) cos those people prefer UKIP, BNP, English Democrats etc. Right now it is in our interest that Tories (unofficial name of Conservatives) stay in power. They may occasionally put India in a difficult spot but nowhere near the same extent as their left parties. Priti Patel is the current Home Secretary which is a damn important post, she is definitely on our side. It is called The Conservative and Unionist Party , you stated they bitterly opposed Scottish Independence, yet before voting for Boris Johnson as leader 62% of The voting conservative membership would be prepared to lose Scotland from the Union for Brexit !. Explain that one for a Unionist party

During Brexit, most top tories didn't endorse it, heck even the PM at that time D Cameron resigned after he failed to prevent Brexit. It was more a people's movement, probably had underground support from the Conservative party.

Two months ago 62% of the membership of the Conservative and Unionist party were prepared to let go Scotland to get Brexit through . My point being there is no such thing now as what we thought as Conservative and Labour Parties . Highlighted by a Unionist party being prepared to break up the Union for Brexit .
