Jadeja is averaging 50 with the bat in test matches in the last 3 years.  And from 23 tests ... so the sample size is large enough. I think he can bat at 6 and we can play 4 fast bowlers, unless it is a green top where the extra batsman is needed. But NZ pitches are usually flat these days.

 

I must add that Pant must bat at 7 for Jadeja to be able to bat at 6.

 

Saha at 7 does not allow Jadeja at 6.
