Greg Chappel at 3 for me. Did better than viv in test cricket for sure.

However Greg could never equal Viv's destructive or match-wining ability .No batsmen could torment great bowlers like Viv or take away a game more.Greg was technically better as well as statistically ahead  but suspect against the fast bouncing ball and not at his best in the seaming English tracks, nor on turning tracks.Viv above all averaged over 61 at one down and also proved himself more on the turning tracks on the subcontinent and seaming Englsih conditions,No doubt Greg was a king on stats including WSC Supertests but still it is always Viv who would be more impactul.

Why no Imran-arguably the cricketer of the 1970's? Also no Wasim-greatest let arm bowler ever and most complete?

a) I need performance w/o bottle caps and home umpires

b) I do not necessarily require complete bowlers on paper or those who bowl with left arm

The talk about complete bowler or batsman is hogwash if they cannot be more effective than incomplete players

:dontknow:
