In the last 50 yaesr WEst Ibdies and Australai in eras posessed arguably the best taems ever in the history of test cricket.Here I am pitting a joint Calypso-Aussie world tset xi of 1970-2020 versus a rest of the world XI of same era.

 

West Indies-Australia 1970-2020

Hayden

Viv Richards

Rest of the World test xi-1970-2020

Neck to neck but I would back Australia-west Indies by a whisker as it has better specialist batsmen and bowlers.Rest of the World has 4 all-time great allrounders ,deeper batting depth and a bowling attack of great variety.Still I feel that the west Indies-Australia XI has more match-winners or destructive players in batting and bowling departments..Arguably Rest of the World team is more balanced .

How can a team with Qadir, Wasim and Imran expect to win? :hmmmm:
 

PS since they are going to lose and you are at squeezing in Pak players, why leave Miandad and company out?

Fine but sample size is too small. In that way smith should walk in this xi as first choice batsman. Chappel has faced wi pace attack on quick aus pitches.

47 tests in the top order is not a small sample size! And when Chappell only batted in 24 tests in the top order. Though both can play in the 11 as they are better than some of the other batsmen in that 11

Who exactly were the great batsmen who were tormented by Qadir. Hirwani also took 16 wickets against Viv Richards but that does not make Hirwani a great bowler.Hirwani if he played more matches he sure would have taken more wicket than Qadir.
