Admired Dravid but not among my favorites to watch.

That's a myth, bowlers win you matches though batsman can set it up for them. The 2003 Adelaide win was on the back of a once in a lifetime six for by Agarkar, the 2006 Joburg win was due to Sreesanth, the 2008 Perth win was also on the back of our disciplined bowling in the first innings, same for Durban 2010 so on so forth. Except a handful of matches in NZ, some in Eng SRT has consistently outperformed Dravid in S.E.N.A especially Oz at their peak.

Dravid was an important cog which helped VVS play a long innings of 281. IMO a lot of peaks of Indian batsmen was due to the partnerships in which Dravid stuck for a long time at the crease. Although he was not as good as Sunny or Sachin, he has helped shape the careers of greats like Sehwag, Sachin and VVS (Eden). A great test player nevertheless although he will not make the All time world 11 like Sunny or Sachin.
