diegovegaz Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 these dead tracks can only harm test cricket it is incomplete without giving assistance to bowlers bowler friendly wickets will convert draws onto results
putrevus Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 That's just nonsense. Steyn showed how he can bully the lower order and inflate his average. Repeat after me: 468 for 1...468 for 1...468 for1. see the difference of 468 for 1 due is one man sehwag , he made them look bad no body else on indian batting other than him batted with any assurance against their pace attack.where as every south african batsmen were thumping these two clowns all over the park,South Africans got battered yesterday and they learnt their lessons and came up with better effort, Indians also got battered in first innings and didnt show any improvement in their show in the second innings and they repeated the same garbage today. Off the topic Kumble captaincy was so horrible today he should have come up the order , he should have promoted Bhajji and Rp up the order and in case they failed he could have given Laxman some support by holding his end which he can do very well unlike slogging which he had to do because he came early, He removed ganguly just after two overs i which he looked like one person who was beating the bat to bring himself on, and Sachin was never given a chance to bowl in this match so far , I dont know if he is injured and Ganguly just two overs and none in first.
cochise Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Putrevus, You make some good points...Kumble's captaincy today was as flat as the rest of the side outside of Sehwag. Serious case of post-Autraliaitis seems to be affecting the whole team.
putrevus Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 What I feel is mentality prevalent in India is if matches are played in India pace bowlers who are playing in tests feel all they have to do is bowl if they get wickets that is fine , it is spinners job to take wickets because they are flat pitches nobody can blame us, and Spinners while playing overseas do the same placing onus on the pace bowlers to take wickets. Where as Winning teams who have come to India say Australia, South Africa and West Indies in past came with their four best bowlers pace or spin it didnt matter ,they made it their jobs to take wickets. Thats why Indians spinners have horrible figures overseas and Fast bowlers do the same at home.Kumble recently in last four years made a conscious effort of making contribution overseas in win thats why we have seen India win more match abroad. He even admitted it that it bothered him he was not helping his team win more matches overseas.
cochise Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Yes...I think you are on to something here. They don't feel enough responsibility to take wickets - pacers in India and spinners abroad. Then, the pressure must be brought to bear. The side needs discipline. While the spirit showed in Australia was inspiring...they now lack discipline...partially as a result. This must be re-enforced for them to be an effective fighting unit.
Dhondy Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 see the difference of 468 for 1 due is one man sehwag That one man is an Indian.
King Tendulkar Posted March 29, 2008 Author Posted March 29, 2008 RP and co cannot be criticised. The pitch was a joke. A bowling attack of Marshall, Akram, Warne and Holding would have struggled and got butchered on this pathetic track
King Tendulkar Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 BCCI back to the bad old days with tracks in this series. In this series keep producing chairman tracks. That are tracks that suit the chairman as matches always go to 5th day and they get their full revenue!
