Can super flat pitches narrow the gap for weaker teams in LOI’s?

Looking at how Ireland chased down against England and teams like Bangladesh WI and Srilanka (the current one) and even present day South Africa have beaten or given scare to big teams in high scoring games.

 

I know teams like Pakistan and to a lesser extent Afghanistan’s forte is defending small-medium totals with their bowling but if you give their hacky batsmen some extra leeway with a flat pitch they might bring their game up a several notches too.

 

Only teams that can be more or less competitive on all surfaces right now are India, Nzl Eng and Australia.

 

It wouldn’t be a bad idea in a WT20 and WC type tournament to have every pitch be a patta to even the odds in boring minnow games.

yes but so does low scoring totals to ...

avg bowling is also the problem which was the case today...had opp had bowlers like starc, bumrah it wudnt have been same
