against that aussie side there was nothing called luck, it was that difficult to beat them

even against lanka im sure we wont have won in CT ....SL use to choke opp in middle overs with murali n spinners

We had similar matches in comings years against Aus n SL n we lost

We got better in chasing under dravid n chappell

I absolutely dont agree about SL. India would have won easily. India were in really good shape in that tournament. I think they chased down england easily. I think if you look back that was one of the best playing indian team. And twice they bundled out Srilanka with pacers. India we have cantered

About Aus no guarantee if india chose to bat and put in 260 which they were capable off. Anything could have happened

We were always in good shape untill final

Remember Ind- ZIMB-WI tri series where we were unbeaten until final and that was just WI

this was lanka in their own backyard

England was a poor LOI side and we are talking about SL in their own backyard

We were never good chaser and ganguly just knew how to losoe finals .

Watch these 2 similar matches

Both these were after natwest chase in 2002. So we did win chasing before this.

natwest was once in a blue moon there were 13 finals around it

England didnt have a good ODI team, SL at home was as good as any

that wkt in lords was flat this was not

Same yuvraj didnt fancy facing murali at all

just to bust ur myth this was another failed chase in final , natwest was a fluke once in a while

1983 win was overseas that too in England rather than the 2011 win which was in the very familiar home conditions.

Yes thats what i have ranked in order of best odi  final wins ( impact, occassion, situation and conditions). To me these are top ten. The Asia Cups India won were pretty one sided except for the last one which Jadhav pulled off with one leg.

1. 1983 World Cup

2.2011 World Cup

3. 2013 CT

4. 1985 World Series

5. 2002 Natwest Trophy

6. 1985 Rothmans Cup ( the most underrated victory in my opinion. Quadrangular series : India, Pakistan, England, Australia. India defeated Australia in finals bundling them out for 139.  No idea why nobody talks about this)https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/60851/scorecard/65735/australia-vs-india-final-rothmans-four-nations-cup-1984-85

7. Independence Cup Bangladesh ( Dada, Robin Singh, Kanitkar)

8. Titan Cup ( Defending 220 odd)

9. 2008 Tri Series Australia

10. Coca Cola Cup ( Sharjah Desert storm)

11. Hero Cup

12. Asia Cup 2018

CB series shud be higher then natwest , higher then even titan cup

beating Aus in Aus that to 2 straight games
