That is not his first interview I remember there was one before this where he was speaking in typical Mumbai style (no english); it was shown either in "Sunil Gavaskar presents" or Ravi Shastri's program he had the same confidence even at that time!

He had the confidence mixed with innocence. Did not come off as arrogant at all. I guess true talents walk the walk, don't just talk the talk!
