India's fast bowling injury concerns and workload issues

Over the past two years, we are stuck in a phase where a lot of our fast bowlers are getting injured and hence its important to manage their workload as age is also catching them.

1. Bumrah had an injury after WC 2019 and he came after a long break in NZ tour.

2. Ishant seems to be struggling with his injuries as well and missed one NZ test and the full Australia tour.

3. Bhuvi was injured in our England tour assignment, he was again injured in NZ and continued to injure himself even before Australia tour as well.

These are signs of worry for us and our pace attack on paper looks quite average in the ongoing Australia tour. Hence, Indian team management, selectors, coach and captain must let the pacers know their priorities and the major assignments over the next year and tell them that they keep themselves fit for that as follows:-

Bhuvi -

1.England away test tour

2. WT20

Ishant -

1. Away test tours(Eng,SA)

2. Home tests

Shami -

1. Away tests tours( Eng,SA)

2. Home tests

3. LOI series

Umesh-

1. Home tests( Eng, NZ)

2. Away tests

Saini/Siraj-

1. Home tests( Eng, NZ)

2. Away tests( for more exposure)

3. LOI series( including WT20)

Natarajan-

1. WT20

2. LOI series

Bumrah-

1. Away test tours ( Eng, SA)

2. WT20

3. Rest

LOI series for Chahar and Shardul as well.

Should play Saini, Siraj and Umesh for home series against England. Let Ishant and Bumrah rest and Shami recover. I don't think Bhuvi will play tests again, but hopefully he'll recover by WT20

Going by these three pacers can be risky prospect as they are inexperienced. I would throw Ishant in it as I guess he will recover completely by then.

Ishant, Yadav, Saini/Siraj can be the way to go. Maybe throw in Bumrah for the first two test and then rest him for the rest of England series including LOI leg.
