nsareen
Over the decades a pattern has emerged, where we have seen, upcoming "fast bowlers" mature very early & know the tricks of the trade to setup a batsmen and plan a wicket, however indian "fast bowlers" take years to be mature & have control with pace!!! E.g. Indians : Maturing in late 20's but loose pace, eventually lose place.. : Hardly anyone good in batting.. Navneet Saini ( fast but immature, high economy ) Avesh Khan ( Fast but immature, high economy Umesh Yadav ( Fast but immature, gaining a bit of maturity in Tests, not in Limited overs, high economy) Khaleel Ahmed ( Started as Fast, now a trundler, immature, high economy in Limited overs) Shivam Mavi ( Fast, gets injured, immature, high economy in IPL & Domestics) Prasidh Krishna ( Fast, gets injured, immature, high economy in IPL, good in domestics) Nagarkoti ( Fast, extremely brittle, high economy in IPL ) Zaheer Khan ( Started Fast, was immature, only matured quite late when he became a swing bowler later in the career, decent economy) Munaf Patel ( Started Fast, immature, dropped pace to become trundler, decent to high economy) Karthik Tyagi... ( Dont know what to make of him ) Foreigners : We all know how good these guys have been quickly maturing & leading attacks starting in early 20's Rabada Steyn Broad Wood Archer Hazlewood Cummins .. .. I can put it down to lack of grooming fast bowler, our bowlers lack in confidence, lacks guidance & support early in the career, age groups.. Link to comment
Suhaan
No matter how good is your attack you need to groom next batch of pacers, pacers generally take time to mature, you have to factor in injuries there as well So pacers should be given debuts at early age, with the amount of cricket these days most teams use there bench by rotating players, doing this ensures no one is rusty express bowling and Mosher 2 Link to comment
MCcricket
There have been very few Indian fast bowlers who were almost there or matured quickly Bumrah is an exception Irfan Pathan was a different problem although he was good at debut and earlier stage. Shami was better. Earlier we never had the fast bowling culture, also the bowling coaching and standards were not that high, Bio mechanics and other stuff is pretty good now in India at higher levels comparatively. also the Indian bodies mature a bit slower Link to comment
