Qualified against the odds

Buddy, if a team wins 9 games out of 12, it does not qualify as against odds  but cruising into the playoffs :winky:

In fact would have qualified 2 games earlier but the last mile can become tough

PS talking about odds, GT is the favorite to win according to bookies - Link

I meant to say before season started Gujju had very low chance by bookmakers to make playoffs. So they qualified against those odds

Since a top two spot is almost confirmed, they should go experiment mode and try this-

Sudhardsan

Wade

Gill

Abhinav/VJ

Miller

Pandya

Tewatia

Drakes

Rashid

Yash Dayal

Saikishore

Test Manohar and Saikishore in dead rubbers. @zen

Saikishore played the last game where he picked up 2 wkts. The next two games are at Wankhede. First one is a day game so if there is turn, we will most likely see the same 11 where Wade was brought in too to bat at #3. At this stage, GT is expected to make changes related more to tactics based on conditions & opposition, and with an eye on the playoffs.

Manojar was played in the first 7-8 games and will likely (or Sudarshan) comeback if GT plays both Lockie & Joseph. That is likely on fresh pitches in playoffs unless Wade displays game changing form. Gurbaz can be given a game as well but Wade appears to be batting well in nets (since he is preferred or may be want to use his experience). PS there is Noor Ahmed as well who can be tried on spin friendly pitches.

There's no point in playing Gurbaz, top three spots are sealed with Wade as back-up. Noor is extravagant as they have a similar Indian option. Trying Manohar is important as they lack finisher and case can be made for him. Saikishore should have made debut a lot earlier. Rest old man Shami for atleast next match.

Group stages done with 10 wins & 4 losses. Last couple of games were more like practise ones.

Next Qualifier 1 at Kolkata on Tue May 24th versus RR/LSG!
