Ok, so looks like we're fielding almost completely separate squads for NZ, LO tour, & Bangers after that. We saw something to the same effect last year with Eng & SL tours, again it was more tests & LO so very little overlap! Why don't we do this more regularly?

I strongly believe one of the major reason why we did so well in 2011, & 2013 CT, was that we had a generally stable side & moreover someone like SRT played only important ODI series. So with that in mind we should identify a core of 20-24 players who can play LO over the next five years & give them exposure against strong sides especially the likes of NZ, Oz & Eng even if away from home!

There should be less overlaps. There is no reason Dhawan should be playing with these guys.  Being the captain What Dhawan does is he controls the batting order also batting style.  So he can play at his own pace and let youngsters go after bowling. That way he has enough runs in the tank to keep his spot.

Of course, I'm saying that we should get more exposure to youngsters by playing them regularly on away tours of strong teams! This should be a policy, in the past we had the likes of thigh slapper, RGS, Kohli stat pad their way to greatness in useless bilateral series giving absolutely no chance for alternatives to emerge in any position! This is why we flopped so badly in 2019 SF with 4 WK in that team

Surya Kumar could've easily feature in that WC had Dhongi retired & Pant/SK debuted a year or two earlier, ideally right after CT17 debacle.
