Riyan Parag, Abhishek Sharma, Rishi Dhawan and Venky Iyer are well known to most people. 

What about some of these lesser known domestic players? I honestly have not seen any of these, but their stats are not bad. Does anyone on our forum know their potential? Too bad domestic cricket is not easy to catch in USA. I am hopeful we get several pace all-rounders who can perform at IPL level.

Atit Sheth, Sumit Kumar are Deepak Chahar level allrounders, accurate medium pace bowlers & can strike big hits (specially Sumit).

Mankad is a proper batter who can bowl a bit, Jani is taller and super accurate medium pacer...though as a batter he looks inferior to Mankad. Except Sumit I don't see very high ceiling for anyone. Riyan Parag, Venkatesh Iyer & Abhishek Sharma are better than rest.

 

There are likes of Vishal Godara from Rajasthan who performed very well in Rajasthan T20 league, unfortunately not with any domestic team. From the domestic circuit Raj Bawa is the one whose progress should be watched..was exceptional in U19 WC with both bat & ball.

Parag and Sharma are the ones who stand out but Sharma should bowl a bit more imo.

 

I feel the time for long term investment in Iyer is now gone.  He should be in and around the white ball squads for purposes of rotation but he's not young enough nor exceptional enough that he is irreplaceable.  

 

Parag offers, potentially, a skillset that is rare in Indian cricket these days for whatever reason. A lower order batsman who can build and hit out while bowling serviceable off-spin as well.

 

Sharma is an opener so it will be tougher for him to get a look-in
